Philippians 2:5 NKJV
"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus..."
Christian humility and meekness are always intertwined with a profound understanding of the majesty and purpose of the Christian life.
His [Jesus’] true understanding of His mission to save and serve, along with His composure, patience, and compassion, serves as a guiding light for all of us. Fully aware of the Godhead residing within Him, He might have been tempted (humanly speaking) to showcase this in response to the constant provocations from Satan, such as, “If You are the Son of God.” However, Jesus’ mindset was of a different nature. The words of the Apostle Paul [Philippians 2:6-8] remind us that: “Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bond-servant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.” This passage reveals that the mind of Christ should and can be within us. It is only through the inspiration of His example and the empowerment of His Spirit that those who earnestly desire to be like Him can attain this transformation. Let us not only love and adore Him but also strive to grow into His likeness.
