John 16:33 NASB95

"These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation but take courage; I have overcome the world."

I often wonder how long it took for some of us to realize the essential lesson that true peace only comes from Jesus! Initially, we may have sought ‘peace’ in sinful ways, only to understand the reality of Scripture when it says, “There is no peace for the wicked” (Isaiah 48:22). Perhaps we tried to find ‘peace’ through worldly pleasures, yet ultimately discovered in painful sorrow "The path of peace they have not known" (Romans 3:17). Then again, we might have tried to attain ‘peace’ through self-righteousness, only to realize that we were falsely claiming “Peace, peace, when there was no peace” (Ezekiel 13:10). But finally, we turned to Jesus in repentance and faith, recognizing that through His sacrificial death, He “made peace through the blood of His cross” (Colossians 1:20). We believed that "He Himself is our peace" (Ephesians 2:14), and “having been justified by faith, we found peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1). Now, as we entrust all aspects of our lives to His loving embrace, “the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7).
