Exodus 14:13 ESV
“Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today.”
These words are from Moses, the leader God chose to deliver the people of Israel from their Egyptian bondage. What a predicament they were in at that time. There stood the people of Israel, in front of them were the waters of the Red Sea, behind them the pursuing army of Egypt. They were trapped and seemingly helpless! For them the dark clouds of terror were gathering all about them. In this hour of their distress Moses cried out to them, “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord.” That very night God took the east wind and lifted up the waters of the Red Sea, making a way of escape. The people of God passed safely through the parted waters and were delivered from their enemies!
Is your heart burdened with many sorrows? Does everything seem to be going against you? Do you feel that you are hopelessly defeated? Can you see nothing but difficulty and disaster ahead of you? “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord.” Be calm, quiet. Trust the Lord and watch Him deliver you in a marvelous way. Remember this, “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:8 ESV
