Romans 8:1
Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

To any earnest Christian who may occasionally feel uncertain about their standing with God, the Apostle Paul's words offer a comforting and encouraging message. While there is no reason to doubt the assurance of our salvation we often wonder how we can be certain of our salvation at any given moment?

We can know by this truth: [1 John 1:9]: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

If we take the opportunity to confess our sins, seek forgiveness, and trust in Christ’s promise, while maintaining a heart and mind focused on confession and a desire for forgiveness, then according to His promise, we may be assured of it. As a result, we are always free from the condemnation of sin. We are living in a state of justification, not because we have earned it, but because God graciously grants it to us for the sake of Jesus.
