Matthew 5:45
for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
What a chaotic world we find ourselves in! It seems that the wicked thrive while the righteous endure hardship. The criminal prospers, while the honest worker often struggles to provide for his family. Is there a God watching over us? Does He truly care? Jesus faced this dilemma too, yet He offered reassurance. He remarked, “the sun rises on both the evil and the good,” not only acknowledging the reality but also celebrating it. He found joy in knowing that the Father’s care encompasses all. The wicked do not truly prosper; thugs and hoodlums, evil doers, ultimately turn on one another, and injustice inevitably leads to its own downfall. When we adopt Jesus’ perspective and view life through the lens of eternity, we will stop envying those who do wrong. We will come to understand the message of the 83rd Psalm. By placing our trust in Jesus’ Father as our heavenly Father, we will recognize that His guiding hand is always present. This confidence will resolve our struggles, for our Father knows and cares for us.
