The following verse is one of the first I ever committed to memory and it kept popping into my mind throughout the night as I had one of those sleeps that are no rest at all.
Isaiah 26:3 “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.”
Life is always unpredictable, and continually presents problems and challenges that can be perplexing and downright difficult. Should we give in to doubts and fears, or can life continue with steadfastness and peace?
Like a river, our lives may face turbulent moments on the surface when the winds blow, and the rains come. Even in the deeper waters the currents may eddy and swirl but still the river flows steadfastly onward toward its ocean home. Through grace, peace is available and achievable for those whose minds are focused on God, our heavenly Father, who loves us deeply.
Excerpt from – I’ll Wait - C. Austin Miles
When doubt and fear assail me,
and bend my spirit low,
I know there is a Saviour,
To whom I e’er can go;
He’s promised to be with me,
No matter what betide;
Til some day when He’ll call me
To sit down at His side.
