Ephesians 3:20
“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us…”
Which is the most precious verse in the Bible? It is a challenge to answer this question because of our ever-changing moods. In confession, the soul needs cleansing; in sorrow, the heart needs comfort; in times of confusion, the mind needs guidance, and in these particular needs we seek the assurance of forgiveness, consolation and direction. When we realize that our Heavenly Father “is able” to help us in any situation; that His power is unfailing, and His love unceasing, we have assurance that His ability to help is matched by His willingness.
This verse leads us to the pinnacle, the highest reach, of human thought. Often, we hesitate, many times we fail, at times we are tempted to give up hope, then comes the Word, “God is able.” We contemplate all that God can do and all that He has promised to do; then we consider everything that we could ask for or think of and still we have not exhausted His resources. What a rich blessing for the child of God; safe in our Father’s care; secure from all fears; we are more than conquerors, because “He is able.”
